Psychology

St. Vincent’s has a long tradition in undergraduate and postgraduate education and training. It has well established links with the Royal College of Surgeons of Ireland, University College Dublin, Dublin City University (www.dcu.ie) and Trinity College Dublin.

Placements are offered to trainees completing either a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology or a Doctorate in Counselling Psychology. Such placements last from between six and twelve months and involve, on average, two to three days per week of supervised clinical practice.

Honorary Assistant Psychology posts are also available in a number of areas – the exact terms of which are agreed with each post holder who in all cases will hold a graduate or post graduate level qualification in psychology.

The Clinical Psychology Service also holds a regular monthly seminar programme along with monthly peer supervision meetings.
