Consultant-led teams cover defined geographical areas (sectors) of Ballymun, Marino-Clontarf, Marino-Tolka, Millmount (including parts of Glasnevin and Drumcondra) and North Strand.

The majority of patients referred to the St Vincent’s Psychiatric Services are offered outpatient follow-up in the sector clinic, as part of their management plan. Patients admitted to the hospital are offered out-patient follow-up on discharge.
Clinics
Weekly new patient assessment clinics, for new referrals to the service, as well as a follow-up clinic for those patients already attending the service, are held in each of the sectors of Ballymun, Marino-Clontarf, Marino-Tolka, Millmount and North Strand.
The community service is funded by the HSE. In order to ensure continuity of care, patients are cared for by the same team in the community and if they are admitted to hospital.
Clozapine Clinic
There is a weekly outpatient service in St Vincent’s Hospital for those patients on Clozapine medicationwhere blood tests are carried out and where patients on Clozapine can be reviewed by nursing and medical staff. The St Vincent’s Hospital team looks after this clinic but patients attending the clinic remain under the overall care of the sector consultant psychiatrist.
