What happens in Distress Tolerance Group?

Clients suffering from intense inner emotional pain, suicidal thoughts, or feeling unsafe in their own company might benefit from this approach. The therapists involved in running this group have all trained in Dialectical Behaviour Therapy and are clinical psychologists.

The group will teach practical skills that participants can use when they feel unsafe and overwhelmed by their distress. Participants will be asked to undertake homework, which will focus on putting the skills into practice. Group will run once a week for eight weeks.
